NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) – Hundreds of people were expected to take advantage of a free dental care clinic.

The Connecticut Mission of Mercy teamed up with Channel 3 for the two-day event in New Britain.

Plenty of people lined up early on Friday morning at New Britain High School.

Doors opened at 7 a.m.

Organizers said the main objective of the clinic was to help those who would go without dental care.

On Friday and Saturday, people could get free cleanings, x-rays, fillings, extractions, and even root canals. No identification or insurance was needed.

The clinic was made possible thanks to hundreds of volunteers and more than 100 dentists.

“We plan to see around 1,100 patients over the two days and we have over 800 volunteers staffing the clinic this year, including 130 member dentists,” said Lisa Perry-Swain, executive director, CT Foundation for Dental Outreach.

The Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach was the main organization behind the clinic.

For those looking to take advantage of it, It’s first come first serve.
