What is the Connecticut Mission of Mercy Free Dental Clinic?
The Connecticut Mission of Mercy Free Dental Clinic is affectionately referred to as CTMOM. The two-day clinic provides free dental care to the underserved and uninsured in Connecticut—those that would otherwise go without dental care. Oral health is inseparable from general health and can affect a person’s self-esteem, compromise their ability to work, attend school and lead a normal life. The Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach (CFDO) in collaboration with the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA) held the state’s first Mission of Mercy project in 2008. Every year, the CTMOM project is held in a different location throughout the state.
During our 2024 Waterbury clinic, we had:
•1085 patient visits
•78 veterans treated
•109 homeless treated
•841 volunteers
•$1,195,757.11 total value of donated care (calculated as of 11/27)
My experience was one of the greatest blessings I can remember. The staff was friendly, the event was extremely organized and best of all, after years of being without dental care, I can smile again!
