NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) – Hundreds of people in New Haven are entering next week with a healthier smile.
This weekend was the 16th annual Mission of Mercy Free Dental Clinic.
Leonard Gorham says for the last year or so he hasn’t been interacting with people as much as he’d like.
“Because of my smile. I just don’t like it like that,” Gorham said.
But the free dental clinic helped change that.
“It’s going to put me at ease a lot,” Gorham said.
Lab techs from Vermont are carefully shaping Gorham’s new smile.
It is part of the comprehensive Mission of Mercy Dental Clinic.
This year it was held at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven.
“People need this so badly, and to be able to see them getting the work done that they need, it’s just wonderful,” said Dr. Bob Schreibman, CTMOM founder.
All the services offered at the clinic are completely free.
Gorham is just one of hundreds to walk out of the gym with a million-dollar smile that didn’t cost him a thing.
With this year’s event wrapped up, Mission of Mercy now turns its focus to raising money to keep this event going.
